Apple CEO Tim Cook Unveils Plans for Generative AI Integration

By Staff Writer, 01 March 2024

During Apple's annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday(28/2), CEO Tim Cook announced the company's intention to provide more insight into its utilization of generative artificial intelligence later this year.

Cook highlighted Apple's recognition of the remarkable potential of generative AI, stating, "We see incredible breakthrough potential for generative AI, which is why we're currently investing significantly in this area. We believe that will unlock transformative opportunities for users when it comes to productivity, problem-solving, and more."

Compared to competitors like Microsoft and Alphabet's Google, Apple has been slower in integrating generative AI, capable of producing human-like responses to written prompts, into its products.

Cook defended Apple's approach, noting that while AI is already operating behind the scenes in their products, more explicit AI features will be unveiled later this year.
