Fermata Raises $10 Million to Advance AI-Driven Agricultural Solutions
Valeria Kogan, Fermata CEO & Founder
Israeli agrotech startup Fermata has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Raw Ventures. The funding will accelerate the development of its "digital agricultural brain," a real-time autonomous crop management system designed to optimize plant health and prevent losses.
Fermata’s flagship product, Croptimus, uses computer vision to monitor crops via field-installed cameras and sensors. This technology enables early detection of pests and diseases, allowing farmers to take targeted action that can prevent up to 30% of crop loss while reducing pesticide use. The system also integrates with existing agricultural solutions, providing comprehensive predictive insights.
Founded in 2020 by Valeria Kogan, a bioinformatics expert with a PhD from Ariel University, Fermata leverages data science to address critical challenges in agriculture. These challenges, including climate change, plant diseases, and soil degradation, have highlighted the need for advanced technologies to enhance field management.
With its new funding, Fermata plans to enhance Croptimus with AI-based forecasting tools, expanding its capabilities to deliver even more precise and actionable insights for farmers.
