The foodtech industry is on a mission to transform the way we produce, distribute, and consume food. This is because by 2022, more than 1 billion people will be obese. Ironically, more than 789 million people are undernourished.
The main factors impeding growth, particularly in areas of high inequality, include conflict, climate variability and extremes, and economic slowdowns and downturns. The road to SDG2 was also becoming much more difficult because of the COVID-19 epidemic.
