Foodpreneurs Hub Raises $500K to Boost Africa’s Food Sustainability
Foodpreneurs Hub, a Nigerian foodtech platform, has secured $500,000 in pre-seed funding to further its mission of tackling food insecurity across Africa. Although the investors were not disclosed, the funds will enable the company to enhance its efforts in addressing post-harvest food loss, which contributes to over 40% of the continent's food waste.
Co-founded by CEO Olushola Oladejo and COO Yosola Oke, Foodpreneurs Hub provides African food entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, and access to key partnerships. The company aims to improve food sustainability by empowering food processors to innovate, reduce waste, and strengthen food security.
"Our goal is to make food processing accessible to everyone," Oke shared in a recent interview. "We are building a network that enables aspiring entrepreneurs to create jobs and contribute to the continent’s food security."
The startup offers comprehensive support to African food innovators, including guidance on product development, business planning, and market research, as part of its mission to foster growth and resilience in the food sector.
