Riyadh's Water Infrastructure Gets $959 Million Boost from NWC
The National Water Company (NWC) of Saudi Arabia has initiated a series of water and sanitation projects valued at SAR 3.6 billion ($959 million) across key regions, including Riyadh, Madinah, and the Eastern Province.
In a recent announcement, NWC revealed that its central cluster has commenced 46 water and sanitation projects in the Riyadh region, featuring lines and networks extending over 2,900 km, with a total investment exceeding SAR 1.6 billion.
These initiatives are part of the company's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure in water and environmental services, aiming to expand service coverage for its customers.
In Riyadh and surrounding areas, 23 water projects are currently underway, covering districts such as Al Mahdia, Al Rimal, Al Bayan, and others.
These projects involve the installation of separate water lines and networks in various districts and governorates, spanning nearly 2,000 km, with a cost of over SAR 718 million.
Additionally, NWC has embarked on 23 wastewater projects in Riyadh and nearby governorates, laying over 970 km of network with an investment of SAR 890 million.
Simultaneously, NWC's eastern cluster has launched 12 projects worth SAR 1.5 billion in the Eastern Province.
These projects aim to enhance service coverage and mitigate environmental damage for residents across 50 districts in Dammam, Al Khobar, Al Qatif, Al-Ahsa, and Hafr Al-Batin.
