Fostering sustainable development and empower women farmers in Senegal, Nigerian AgTech startup UfarmX has announced a strategic partnership with Africa GreenTec, a renowned provider of sustainable energy solutions.

UfarmX, known for its efforts in connecting farmers with high-quality inputs, facilitating market access post-harvest, and providing data-driven insights to enhance agricultural operations, expanded its reach to Senegal in November.

With this expansion, the company aims to address the challenges faced by women farmers, particularly amidst the backdrop of climate change.

The collaboration between UfarmX and Africa GreenTec introduces a pilot program designed to offer subsidized solar-powered storage containers to women farmers.

This initiative stands out for its departure from conventional models that often require substantial upfront investments, presenting a more accessible and sustainable solution to mitigate the risks posed by climate change.

Alexander Zanders, CEO of UfarmX, emphasized the significance of addressing the impact of climate change on agriculture.

"Our partnership with Africa GreenTec underscores our mutual dedication to innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment," he remarked. "Together, we aspire to safeguard livelihoods, preserve ecosystems, and mitigate the adverse effects of climate change."

Africa GreenTec's solar-powered solutions provide a clean and reliable alternative to traditional energy sources, thereby contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and environmental degradation.

Through this collaboration, both UfarmX and Africa GreenTec aim to drive positive change in Senegal's agricultural landscape, particularly for women farmers, while promoting sustainable practices and resilience in the face of climate challenges.
