Open Access Energy Lands $750,000 to Strengthen South Africa's Energy Sector
Open Access Energy (OAE), a South African startup specializing in energy management software, has secured a significant $750,000 investment from Factor E Ventures. This funding marks the first phase of OAE's $1.5 million seed round, positioning the company to address South Africa's pressing energy challenges, including high costs and grid instability.
OAE's flagship platforms, Amptera and Energypro, are designed to optimize the distribution and management of renewable energy. These solutions aim to improve efficiency for independent power producers (IPPs) and municipalities by facilitating seamless energy transactions, enhancing grid stability, and reducing costs.
CEO Gerjo Hoffman emphasized that this investment is a major milestone for OAE, enabling the company to accelerate growth, expand market reach, and contribute to a more resilient and sustainable energy future for South Africa.
