Seifallah Zoghbi, Sequence Ventures Managing Partner & CEO
Egyptian venture capital firm Sequence Ventures plans to launch a $50 million "Africa Deep Tech" fund by 2026 to support emerging technology companies across the continent. The firm also aims to close its EGP 500 million ($16.2 million) "SV Deep Tech Investment" fund by the end of Q1 this year, with investments expected in approximately 20 deals over the next two years.
The "SV Deep Tech Investment" fund will involve contributions from local banks, financial institutions, and private sector companies. Sequence Ventures focuses on deep-tech startups in sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, logistics, and climate, with additional interest in AI, robotics, advanced materials, synthetic biology, and renewable energy.
Amid declining venture capital activity in the region, Sequence Ventures is committed to backing startups driving transformational technologies.
