In November 2024, the MENAPT region experienced a significant slowdown in funding activity compared to November 2023. Total deal value fell by a staggering 61.4%, dropping from US $1.32 billion to just US $510.1 million. Deal count also saw a sharp decline of 48.2%, with only 58 deals closed compared to 112 in the same period last year.
Despite the dip, a few standout deals led the charge in November 2024. Advanta Seeds and Eyewa, both based in the UAE, secured megarounds of US $100 million. Fintech remained a dominant force, with Saudi Arabia’s Lean Technologies raising US $67.5 million (Series B), followed by TailorMed (US $27.5M) and Appcharge (US $26M) from Israel.
As 2024 draws to a close, all eyes will be on the full-year funding performance as the region braces for what 2025 may bring.
