Interest Rates Expected to Start Tapering Off

From January 2022, Central Bank's across the world set out to fight staggering inflation with interest rate hikes; and they did so aggressively.

Here was ING's interest rate hike predications from mid-point 2022.

Truth is, their predications were on the slightly conservative side, as they predicted the US Fed hikes would taper off at 4.5%.

By July 2023, after 16 months of rate hikes, the US Fed Interest Rates only tapered off at 5.50%.

ING also forecasted interest rate drops by the second half of 2023, but there is no indication of that today. It is likely that interest rates will remain elevated for the time being.
