Microsoft has unveiled a new Windows app that serves as a centralized hub for streaming a copy of Windows across various devices, including macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, and even Windows PCs. The app integrates multiple services, such as Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Remote Desktop, offering a versatile way for users to access Windows remotely.

This unified app, in development for nearly a year, features a customizable home screen, multi-monitor support, and USB redirection, allowing local devices like webcams and printers to function as if connected directly to a cloud PC. Primarily designed for Microsoft work and school accounts, the app is intended for existing users of Remote Desktop clients across various platforms.

Despite its benefits for enterprise users, Microsoft has not announced any plans to support consumer accounts. The company's long-term vision, revealed last year, includes moving Windows fully to the cloud to enhance AI-driven services and enable seamless roaming for users' digital experiences.

The Windows app is now available on the Microsoft Store and Apple’s App Store, with a public preview version for Android launching today.
