When I came across the Careem 2024 Wrap Up press release, it's obvious that Careem has accomplished so much in just one year. The company has always been about simplifying life, and in 2024, they truly stepped it up. From creating earning opportunities for millions to expanding their services across the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan, it’s clear they’re not just an app—they’re a game-changer.

As the region’s leading Everything App, they now offer over 20 digital services, including food and grocery delivery, ride-hailing, bike-sharing, international and domestic payment services, and much more.

Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and Co-founder of Careem, shared that in 2024, Careem focused on making life easier for customers by integrating multiple services into a single app. Their food and grocery delivery services became reliable and top-notch, and many people started trusting Careem Pay for their everyday payment needs. Mudassir expressed gratitude for the trust of customers, captains, and partners in 2024 and promised even greater value in 2025.

Here are the highlights from 2024 that caught my attention:

  • Careem Food expanded to Abu Dhabi, launched “Member Mondays,” and saw one customer place 1,531 orders worth $9,600!
  • Careem Groceries deliveries got faster—1.03 minutes in Abu Dhabi—and one shopper placed 988 orders, spending over $11,670.
  • Careem DineOut added hundreds of restaurants, with discounts up to 50%. One customer saved $2,000 on a $7,000 meal at Kempinski.
  • Careem Pay introduced eight new remittance corridors, completing some transfers in just 11 seconds.
  • Careem Plus subscribers saved $82 per month on average, with some racking up savings of over $3,200 in a year.
  • Careem Rides completed over 90 million trips, covering 1 billion kilometers—enough to reach Mars!
  • Careem Bike riders displaced 1.91k tons of CO2 and covered 12.6 million kilometers, a 47% improvement over 2023.

Final Thoughts

Careem has come a long way in 2024, expanding their services and making life easier for millions. Whether it’s quick deliveries, affordable dining options, or environmentally-friendly bike-sharing, it seems like Careem is truly living up to its name as an “Everything App.” I’m curious to see how they’ll outdo themselves in 2025!
