Israeli startup Lidwave is set to revolutionize the LiDAR industry with its new System-on-Chip LiDAR solution, aiming to overcome the current limitations of high costs and complex manufacturing. Despite LiDAR's crucial role in autonomous machines, its broad adoption has been hindered by expensive production processes, with top-tier systems costing thousands of dollars.

Lidwave has announced securing $10 million in seed funding, led by Jumpspeed Ventures and Next Gear Ventures, with support from a major Swedish truck manufacturer. This capital will help the company scale its cutting-edge 4D LiDAR sensor technology, reducing costs and increasing accessibility for industries such as automotive, industrial automation, and traffic management.

The funds will also accelerate the development of Lidwave's proprietary Finite Coherent Ranging technology, which integrates essential components like lasers and receivers onto a single chip, providing enhanced machine perception capabilities. With this innovation, Lidwave aims to reshape the future of machine vision, making LiDAR technology more affordable and available for mass-market applications.

Founded in 2021, Lidwave's leadership team, including CEO Yehuda Vidal, CTO Yossi Kabessa, and Chief Scientist Uri Weiss, brings a wealth of expertise in physics, optics, electronics, and software, pushing the boundaries of 3D sensing.
