New $100 Million Fund by Arise IIP and AFC to Support African Businesses

By Staff Writer 29 July 2024

Arise IIP and the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) have announced the creation of a $100 million fund aimed at bolstering African entrepreneurship. This investment will be directed towards businesses within Arise IIP's Special Economic Zones (SEZs) spread across the continent. The initiative is designed to stimulate economic growth and support entrepreneurial ventures in Africa.

AFC's role extends beyond providing financial support, as they will also offer advisory services to help businesses effectively operate within the SEZ framework. Moreover, AFC plans to enhance the fund's resources by collaborating with Export Credit Agencies and other financial institutions.

Arise IIP, which is currently developing the Bugesera SEZ in Rwanda, sees this partnership as a crucial move towards fostering a prosperous future for Africa.
