Green bonds make up about two-thirds of the GSSS bond market. In 2023, six countries dominated green bond issuance, representing 87% of sales. Over the 2012-2023 period, 13 countries issued 92% of the US $466.2 billion in green bonds, with China alone accounting for US $292 billion (62% of total). Other major issuers include India (US $25 billion), Brazil (US $18.1 billion), and Chile (US $16.6 billion).
