Germany is the largest EV market in Europe with 681,000 units sold in 2021. The country’s car industry is strong which is why German manufacturers hold over 50% of the market share. Tesla is the only non-German brand in the top 5. Volkswagen sold the most EVs in Germany with 108,280 units, but Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling model, 4,465 units ahead of the Volkswagen e-UP! models.
