Job Description

As a content publisher, Lucidity Insights, is publishing several articles and videos each day, and several investigative reports each month. We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Editor to lead our publication’s data and analysis efforts, and the Editorial team’s delivery of key features and articles. Our publication specializes in investigative special reports focused on various industries, and we are looking for an individual that can help us take our data-driven reporting to the next level. As the Senior Editor, you will be responsible for managing our editorial team, overseeing our content development process, and ensuring that our articles are accurate, engaging and insightful.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our editorial team to develop content strategies that incorporate data-driven insights and analysis.
• Manage and mentor our team of writers and editors, providing feedback, guidance, and support to help them produce high-quality content.
• Oversee the content development process, from ideation and research to writing, editing, fact-checking, and publication.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify new and interesting angles for our stories, and collaborate with writers to refine their pitches and submissions.
• Develop and maintain our publication's editorial standards and guidelines, ensuring that our content meets the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
• Use data analysis tools to conduct fact-checking and ensure that our articles are based on accurate and reliable data.
• Work closely with our production team to ensure that our articles are visually engaging and meet our publication's branding and style guidelines.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and sales, to help promote our content and drive engagement and readership.
• Work with our SEO optimization team to ensure articles are published with search key.
• words, and that launch articles are written for various reports, features and videos we are publishing online.
• Use your prior experience in strategy consulting or a related field to inform our content strategies and identify new growth opportunities for our publication.

Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, data analytics, or a related field 5+ years of experience in journalism or content editing, with a focus on data-driven storytelling and analysis.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams of writers and editors.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into compelling stories and insights.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or Google Sheets, a must.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, desireable.
• Prior experience in strategy consulting or a related field is desirable.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
• A passion for storytelling, journalism, and data-driven analysis.
