Dubai Crown Prince Unveils $28.5 Million Mental Health Support Initiative

By Staff Writer, 24 July 2024

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, has unveiled a new Dh105 million initiative aimed at improving mental health support for residents and citizens. This initiative is a key component of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, an ambitious project launched this year to position Dubai as the premier global destination for living, working, and visiting.

The Mental Wealth Framework, central to this initiative, will introduce various measures including early detection programs to identify mental health issues, a renewed focus on mental health education in schools, and enhanced access to mental health services.

Awad Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, highlighted that the framework aims to bolster Dubai's reputation as a top destination for quality of life. He emphasized the importance of addressing mental health as a critical element of community welfare, especially given the rapid pace of modern life. The framework is designed to support Dubai’s diverse community and reinforce its unique lifestyle proposition.
