Tadamun and EBank Back Women’s Micro-Enterprises with $1M Funding

Tadamun Microfinance Foundation has secured a EGP 50 million (~ USD 1.01 million) credit facility from Egypt's Export Development Bank (EBank) to support women-led micro-enterprises. This financing aims to boost access to essential funds for women-owned small businesses, enhancing their competitive edge and expanding job opportunities, a move aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for economic growth.
Mona Zulfikar, Chairperson of Tadamun Microfinance Foundation’s Board of Trustees, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to forming partnerships that empower women entrepreneurs, in line with the Financial Regulatory Authority’s focus on micro-enterprises as a key economic driver.
Reham Farouk, CEO of Tadamun, noted that the funds would be distributed through tailored financing packages to meet the diverse needs of women-led enterprises. She emphasized that this facility would enable these businesses to grow, providing stable incomes and improving the quality of life for their families.
Karim Gomaa, Financial Director, remarked on Tadamun’s strong credit track record, supported by collaborations with 11 banks in Egypt. He outlined the variety of financing options available, including individual and group loans, household and gold financing, as well as non-financial services, all aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth.
