MSMEDA and Foundation Ventures Sign $3 Million Deal to Support Egyptian Startups
The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has signed a $3 million agreement with Foundation Ventures Fund to support Egyptian startups. The deal underscores MSMEDA's dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and driving economic innovation in Egypt.
During the signing ceremony, attended by key figures including MSMEDA CEO Basel Rahmi and Foundation Ventures Managing Partner Mazen Nadim, Rahmi highlighted the agency’s commitment to bolstering the growth and stability of startups across various sectors.
The initiative, part of MSMEDA’s collaboration with the World Bank under the Entrepreneurship Support Agreement, marks Egypt's first investment program targeting venture capital funds. It aims to fuel early-stage startups, enhance their competitiveness, and align with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for a diversified and resilient economy.
By injecting vital funding into promising ventures, this collaboration seeks to accelerate economic growth, generate employment opportunities, and empower startups to expand locally and regionally.
