Senegalese telecom giant Sonatel has led a $1 million funding round for Eyone, a healthtech firm revolutionizing medical data accessibility in Africa. The round included $855,000 from Sonatel’s Venture Innovation Fund (VIF) and $145,000 from BICIS, the Senegalese branch of BNP Paribas.

The investment will help Eyone expand across Africa, integrate AI capabilities, and enhance digital connectivity in healthcare systems. Founded in 2015 by Henri Ousmane Gueye and John Diatta, Eyone’s platform centralizes patient records to streamline care, reducing redundant diagnostics and delays in obtaining medical histories.

Its flagship solution, the Shared Patient Record, is already improving care continuity in Senegal and is deployed in Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, and France. Eyone’s innovative approach demonstrates scalability across both emerging and developed markets.

Eyone simplifies healthcare by eliminating inefficiencies, ensuring faster and more reliable care, Gueye stated.
