Chatberry, a rising SaaS startup in MENA’s conversational commerce sector, has secured SAR 1 million (~USD 266K) in a Pre-Seed funding round led by Riyadh-based Iwan Ventures. The investment will support the expansion of Chatberry’s AI-driven WhatsApp marketing and automation platform, designed to help businesses enhance customer engagement while ensuring compliance.

Founded in 2024 by Ali Karout, Chatberry addresses the growing need for compliant and scalable WhatsApp solutions, particularly in a region where over 90% of consumers use the platform for business. Its technology enables businesses to automate campaigns, manage inquiries, and analyze engagement metrics while adhering to WhatsApp Business API guidelines.

“SMEs and enterprises struggle with compliance and technical challenges,” said Karout. “Our platform removes these barriers, making every conversation a growth opportunity without requiring coding.”

Lewa Abukhait, CEO of Iwan Ventures, emphasized Chatberry’s potential, citing its traction in e-commerce and retail as a key driver of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The investment aligns with Iwan Ventures’ strategy of supporting high-impact, tech-driven startups that contribute to economic diversification.

With this funding, Chatberry is set to become a leading force in conversational commerce, enabling businesses to transform customer interactions into scalable growth.
