GCC M&A Transactions by Country and Year

Since 2017, there have been over 200 M&A transactions across the GCC in 4 years, except in 2020, when the region witnessed 177 M&A transactions.

This drop was primarily attributed to the covid’19 pandemic which led to lowered confidence in the economy and leading to high uncertainty.

In fact, some have argued that the effective level of government support and subsidies provided during the pandemic across the GCC region lowered what would otherwise be significant opportunities for distressed M&A opportunities.
