Managing Director, Wa'ed Ventures

As the Managing Director and CEO of the Wa'Ed Ventures, Fahad Alidi is also the MD of its $500 million venture capital arm. Prior to this post, Fahad served as the head of integration and interface for Aramco’s Industrial Investments Program. As a fellow at the World Economic Forum, he led engagements with executives across 30+ financial institutions and established the Oil and Gas Climate Related Financial Risks workstream. At Aramco, Fahad led the Integrated Resource Planning division to initiate the Kingdom’s 9.5 GW renewable energy program and supported initial efforts for the privatization and restructuring of the Saudi power sector. Backed by Aramco, Wa'ed Ventures is a US$500 million venture capital fund with the aim of accelerating the development of a full innovation ecosystem by investing in tech-based startups, globalizing Saudi Arabia’s homegrown technologies, and stimulating the emergence of a sustainable startup economy. With a ticket size of up to $20 million per investment deal and Aramco’s unwavering support, Wa’ed Ventures provides access to ecosystem resources, strategic partnerships, market intelligence, and a global network that drives the growth of companies as they cross markets and geographies.
