Leukeather was founded by Nuhayr Zein in 2021 and is currently being further developed to increase its durability and mechanical strength. Leukeather is a vegetal leather alternative to animal and exotic leathers made from dried plant pods. It is a sustainable and ethical leather that is naturally patterned and colored. Our material outcome is emboss-free, soft, flexible, and most importantly natural. Leukeather is still under ongoing research in order to improve its performance, color range, and, biodegradability. We take pride in literally working with nature to enhance its performance using biotechnology to accommodate our planet’s needs. Leukeather is considerate of people, animals and our planet as a whole.
