UAE's Verbatica Attracts $700,000 for AI Language Learning Platform Expansion
Verbatica, a UAE-based startup, has successfully raised $700,000 in angel investment to debut an innovative platform for learning English and Arabic. This funding will facilitate the company's expansion into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets and prepare for a subsequent funding round scheduled for November 2024.
Nikita Savilov, co-founder and CEO of Verbatica, brings extensive experience to the company as an MGIMO graduate and former executive at Skyeng. Together with co-founder Nikolay Morozov, Savilov has developed a platform that incorporates insights from over 100 active teachers. The platform uses a unique methodology powered by adaptive artificial intelligence to enhance language learning efficiency. Users can opt to learn independently or with a teacher, and can switch between modes as needed. All educational resources, including dictionaries and flashcards, are centralized on the platform.
A standout feature of Verbatica is its Language Quotient (LQ) concept, which assesses language proficiency in five key areas: reading, listening, writing, speaking, and cultural immersion. This cultural immersion component is a distinctive innovation by Verbatica, encouraging learners to engage with the language's culture through local customs, history, media, slang, and social media trends.
Verbatica's demo testing phase will commence on August 15, with the official platform launch set for the end of August, aligning with the new academic year.
