Uber Unveils a Feature to View Wait Times and Ride Costs
Uber announced on Tuesday (July 16) the launch of a new feature that allows users to view average wait times and ride costs in over 10,000 cities worldwide. This update aims to facilitate summer travel as record numbers of passengers are navigating U.S. airports.
According to Uber, the feature utilizes recent historical data from both on-demand and reserved Uber trips within each city. While users can see prices for specific routes at the time they check, the current version does not allow adjustments to view wait times and costs for different times of the day.
To use the tool, customers need to open the app, tap “Where to?”, and select “search in a different city.” The app also enables riders to make reservations for future trips.
Starting Tuesday, some users will begin seeing the update, with a broader rollout to all customers expected in the coming days.
