By Staff Writer, 26 February 2024

Nestled in the heart of Nigeria's Ekiti State, a transformative initiative is underway - the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), poised to reshape the region into a focal point for digital innovation and a flourishing knowledge economy.

Backed by the African Development Bank, the EKZ receives a substantial boost with a commitment of $80 million in loan financing.

This pioneering special economic zone initiative, spearheaded by the state government, aims to cultivate synergies among educators, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and industries, all converging within a singular space.

More than just a mere development project, EKZ represents a melting pot where ideas intermingle, creativity flourishes, and aspirations take flight.

The Ekiti State Government demonstrates its dedication by providing $14.8 million in counterpart funding, augmenting the Bank's financing to a total of $94.8 million for this groundbreaking endeavor.
