Sports-tech startup SportVot has raised Rs 32.7 crore (USD 3.45 million) in a funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund along with participation from Anicut Capital, Let’s Venture, Capital A, Succeed Innovation, Garima Vohra, and Gaurav Chanana, among others.

The Mumbai-based startup had earlier secured Rs 9.4 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Omidyar Network India in Feb 2024.

The proceeds will be utilized to expand internationally and invest further in our AI-led production and distribution capabilities, SportVot said in a press release.

Who Are the Founders Behind SportVot and What Do They Do?

Founded in 2019, SportVot is led by Sidhhant Agarwal (CEO), Shubhangi Gupta (CMO), and Yash Bhagwatkar (COO). The Mumbai-based sports-tech startup focuses on democratizing sports broadcasting by enabling grassroots leagues to access professional-grade streaming tools.

The company operates at the intersection of AI-led video production, cloud broadcasting, and sports talent discovery, addressing a global inefficiency where 99% of sports events remain unstreamed.

SportVot claims that it has already streamed over 500,000 matches across more than 30 countries and reaches an audience of over 100 million viewers, with growing traction across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.

The startup primarily monetises its platform by charging tournament organisers and sports bodies for video production and streaming services, while also generating revenue through pay-per-view, subscriptions, and brand partnerships.

According to SportVot, nearly 99% of sports played globally go unstreamed due to high production costs and limited access to technology. It aims to bridge that gap by making professional-grade sports broadcasting accessible to leagues and organisers of all sizes.

Who Are SportVot’s Key Competitors?

SportVot operates in a competitive Indian sports-tech landscape:

  • CricHeroes (Ahmedabad): Focuses on cricket scoring and analytics
  • FanCode (Mumbai): Offers premium sports streaming and content

While competitors focus on specific verticals, SportVot differentiates through end-to-end production, distribution, and monetization infrastructure, particularly targeting underserved grassroots segments.

What’s Next for SportVot?

The latest funding will be used to:

  • Expand into international markets (2026-2028 roadmap)
  • Enhance AI-led production capabilities
  • Scale distribution partnerships and viewer reach

With increasing global demand for localized sports content and rising digital consumption, SportVot is positioned to capture value in a market where digital sports viewership is growing at 12% CAGR globally.
