South Africa Launches Gibela Business Incubator for Ekurhuleni Entrepreneurs
On Wednesday (April 10th), the Minister for Small Business Development, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, inaugurated the Gibela Business Incubator located at Kwa-Thema Business Park in Springs, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.
This cutting-edge incubator is tailored to empower small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) by providing them with affordable space, crucial business support, and access to market opportunities, fostering their growth and sustainability.
A collaborative effort between the Gibela Rail Transport Consortium, the City of Ekurhuleni, and the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) has led to the establishment of the Gibela Business Incubator.
It aims to serve entrepreneurs and small businesses in Nigel, Kwa-Thema, Duduza, Tsakane, and the broader Ekurhuleni area, offering vital business and technical development services to minimize early-stage startup risks.
The incubator's impact is evidenced by the imminent recognition of five SMMEs across various sectors.
These businesses are poised to receive certificates acknowledging their successful completion of the three-year program.
Throughout this journey, they have achieved significant milestones in business development, including market readiness and self-sustenance.
The Gibela Business Incubator represents one of the 110 incubators and hubs supported by Seda.
Its establishment aligns with the Department of Small Business Development's strategic mandate to spearhead and coordinate comprehensive initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, SMMEs, and cooperatives.
By providing an enabling environment, it endeavors to facilitate their growth and long-term viability.
