SMEDAN Pledges Support for SME Growth in Nigeria
In a recent meeting held in Abuja, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) reiterated its dedication to overcoming obstacles facing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country.
Following discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Charles Odii, the Director General of SMEDAN, emphasized the agency's determination to advance the Renewed Hope economic prosperity agenda, with a specific focus on tackling challenges hindering SME growth.
Odii highlighted that the meeting with the president provided an opportunity to delve into the 'Grow Nigeria' strategy, a comprehensive approach aimed at providing SMEs with crucial guidance, resources, opportunities, and workforce support necessary for their success.
In a statement released by SMEDAN's media unit, Odii stated, "SMEs are central to the president’s mission to eradicate poverty and ensure prosperity reaches all corners of Nigeria."
He continued, "His commitment was evident as we discussed SMEDAN’s GROW Nigerian strategy, which includes plans to create an enabling environment for over 40 million small businesses, collectively providing over 60 million jobs. We are not only going to protect them from inflationary pressures but also empower them to drive down such trends."
