Breaking Ground: SantimPay's Payment Platform Exceeds 6 Billion Birr in Transactions

SantimPay Financial Technology, a relatively recent addition to Ethiopia's fintech sector, proudly announced that its payment platform has successfully processed transactions exceeding 6 billion birr.
The groundbreaking news was shared during SantimPay's inaugural general assembly on January 13, 2024.
Since its inception just a year ago, SantimPay has swiftly integrated 2000 merchants into its ecosystem.
The fintech startup's comprehensive payment system, which encompasses an online payment gateway, mPOS (mobile-point-of-sale), and a Unified Payment Interface (UPI), has catered to the needs of an impressive two million unique users.
This achievement, as highlighted by the company in a statement, has propelled SantimPay into profitability within a remarkably short timeframe.
The company's commitment to its mission of fostering cashless, easy, and straightforward payments has been evident since its establishment in 2021.
With a registered capital of 160 million birr and a consortium of 12 shareholders, SantimPay officially commenced operations in November 2023, solidifying its presence in Ethiopia's dynamic fintech landscape.
