Palestinian HRTech TAP Raises $1M to Revolutionize Job Hunting
13 January 2025•
TAP, a Palestinian-Dutch company dedicated to creating transformative remote job opportunities for underserved youth, has successfully raised $1 million to accelerate its innovative job-hunting platform. The funding round was led by Invest International in the Netherlands and includes contributions from a group of impact angel investors.
"Palestinian youth have shown that when systemic barriers are removed, their resilience and brilliance transform into flourishing opportunities. Now, we’re developing smarter, scalable solutions using AI to empower users to own their journey, leveraging their motivation and resourcefulness to secure meaningful careers. We are amplifying our impact in Palestine and expanding across the region,” said Christian, co-founder and CEO of TAP.
Transforming Lives Without Crossing Borders
TAP’s mission is based on the conviction that everyone, when empowered, has the potential to secure meaningful employment and contribute to a better future for themselves and their community.
TAP has achieved significant growth in Palestine, a region burdened by occupation and systemic injustice, resulting in the marginalisation of youth. In 2023, the company created 30 to 40 remote jobs, and in 2024, it more than doubled this figure to over 100 remote roles. Despite the challenges of operating in such a volatile environment, TAP continues to deliver and scale life-changing opportunities for high-potential individuals across Palestine. The company has also expanded into Lebanon and Jordan since early 2024, addressing similar employment challenges in these markets.
Having grown up in Beirut and witnessed the limited opportunities available, Marc, TAP’s Head of Operations, who now lives in Berlin, said: 'What started as a solution to empower youth in Palestine has evolved into a model that is expanding to the rest of MENA, where youth are equally marginalized and held back by systemic barriers
“Jobs are the ultimate equaliser, especially remote jobs—they break down barriers and level the playing field, no matter the circumstances or local limitations,” said Jafar, co-founder and CTO of TAP, who was born and raised in Nablus, Palestine, where he continues to live and innovate.
Redefining Job Creation: Launching an AI Job Creation Platform
TAP’s team started building an AI-driven job creation platform in early 2024. The platform is designed to empower youth to take ownership of their job searches, build global networks, and secure meaningful remote opportunities. This groundbreaking platform is already being tested through pilot projects with three leading education NGOs and is also available directly to individuals seeking effective job-hunting solutions. The growing demand for TAP's programs underscores the pressing need for scalable solutions in the region.
"The underlying technology and core concepts driving our platform are consistently proving their effectiveness. We could be on the cusp of creating transformative change. Our AI-driven tools have the potential to revolutionise how underserved youth access opportunities—not just in Palestine, Jordan, or Lebanon, but worldwide,” said Tabea, TAP’s Head of Product, based in Berlin.
With the upcoming launch of its AI-powered job-hunting platform and the expansion of partnerships across the region, TAP aims to create 1,000 jobs in 2025—a bold target grounded in the invaluable experience TAP has gained over the past few years.
A Grassroots Tech Movement
TAP has become a catalyst for economic and social resilience in Gaza and the West Bank. Despite the devastating challenges facing Palestine today, TAP’s team keeps delivering on its mission. Team members, including those in Gaza who are working in makeshift conditions, continue to deliver value and contribute tirelessly to their communities.
TAP is not just a company—it is a grassroots tech movement creating opportunities and inspiring hope. Over the past year, TAP has onboarded over 1,000 mentors from across the globe, ready to guide, support, and connect youth to global opportunities.
"We are building a movement to challenge the systemic injustices that lock young people out of opportunities. With every supporter, we grow stronger—and we won’t stop until a future where opportunity is accessible to all becomes a reality," Christian reaffirmed.
