National Bank of Egypt Dominates Syndicated Loans, Achieving EGP 322.5 Billion in 2023
The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has successfully orchestrated and marketed 28 financing deals, amounting to a substantial EGP 322.5 billion in 2023.
This achievement positions NBE as the leading bank in Africa in terms of the number of deals executed.
The recognition comes from Bloomberg International's annual evaluation of syndicated loan performance, where NBE secured the top spot as the best bank in both the African and Egyptian banking markets.
The bank's prowess was acknowledged across multiple roles, including financing agent, main arranger, document bank, and syndicated loan marketer.
Hisham Okasha, Chairman of NBE, expressed pride in the bank's credibility and leadership in syndicated loans within Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East.
The prestigious international acknowledgment reflects the bank's ongoing commitment to providing essential financing for major projects characterized by high economic feasibility and creditworthiness.
Okasha highlighted the bank's significant contribution to the Egyptian economy, fostering growth in vital sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, industry, real estate development, contracting, petroleum, tourism, fertilizers, and construction materials.
