Senegalese e-health startup Kera Health Platforms has raised US$10 million in funding from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

Launched in 2023, Kera is an AI-powered platform that connects healthcare service providers and patients, and digitises and analyses healthcare data.

The company has now secured a proposed US$10 million in funding from the IFC, which will help in the development of its software platform. Kera’s service is designed to serve vulnerable groups, including informal sector workers and women, by reducing patient costs and enhancing service quality through quicker payments and AI-driven efficiency.

In addition to financing, IFC will support Kera in adopting social and environmental standards, improving governance, and establishing mechanisms for employee grievances.
