JaxBio Technologies Receives $2.73 Million Funding Boost

19 July 2024•

Medical diagnostics startup JaxBio Technologies, based in Netanya, Israel, was awarded a $2.73 million grant by the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator.

This funding came with the possibility of future blended financing, meaning that another €9.1 million may come from the EU and another €9.1 million from private investors.

The company plans to utilise the money to build its diagnostics platform, extend clinical programmes, and develop a blood test that will make lung cancer diagnosis and treatment easier, faster, and more accurate.

Under the direction of Dr. Shahar Zirkin, the company’s founder and CEO, JaxBio is creating a blood test for accurate cancer and other disease diagnosis.

Its liquid biopsy method improves monitoring, therapy prediction, and diagnosis by detecting hundreds of cancer biomarkers in blood at a low cost and great sensitivity.

When time is of the essence, this lab technique yields results the next day, allowing healthcare practitioners and patients to make quicker, more informed decisions.
