Intron Health Secures $1.6 Million Pre-Seed Funding for AI-Driven Health Solutions
Intron Health, a Nigerian healthtech startup, has successfully raised $1.6 million in pre-seed funding to enhance its AI technology. The company's primary focus is on improving noise cancellation and managing multi-speaker conversations.
The funding round was led by Microtraction, with additional support from Plug and Play Tech Center, Jaza Rift, Octopus Ventures, Africa Health Ventures, OpenSeedVC, Pi Campus, Alumni and Angels, and BakerBridge Capital. Global partners in this round included Google, CLear, NYU, and Optum.
Intron Health plans to allocate the funds to strengthen its research capabilities, enhance both cloud-native and on-premises solutions, and broaden its distribution network. The startup aims to boost efficiency, improve health outcomes, and positively affect hospital finances.
This funding follows the development of Intron Health's initial clinical speech recognition service, which achieved a 92% accuracy rate in medical terminology, even with heavy accents.
Founded in 2020, Intron Health aims to digitize healthcare by alleviating patient traffic and improving clinical efficiencies. The company leverages localized voice technology to transform healthcare and explore new applications across various sectors.
