10 October 2023•

Saudi Arabia is gearing up to invest over $175 billion annually in industrial and mega projects from 2025 to 2028, with a peak expenditure of $180 billion projected for 2026 and 2027, according to a McKinsey & Co. report cited by Bloomberg.

Ongoing projects, including the monumental $500 billion NEOM and Red Sea resorts, account for nearly $1.3 trillion in value

Analysts, including Shankar Chandrasekaran, emphasized the immense resources required for Saudi Arabia's ambitious construction plans in the coming decade.

The projected annual contract awards are expected to triple, surging from $50 billion to $150 billion, indicating the scale of the construction projects.

Saudi Arabia's giga projects play a pivotal role in the country's transformation into a top tourism destination and diversifying its economy away from oil dependency.

The Kingdom has already awarded construction contracts worth $250 billion since 2016, aligning with its ambitious 2030 plan led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which includes launching a new airline and airport.

The nation is dedicating substantial investments to infrastructure and tourism initiatives, and the anticipated rise in foreign investment is projected to generate millions of fresh job opportunities.
