HelpMum, a Nigerian health technology startup, has secured a significant boost with a $225,000 grant from the Africa Visionary Fund.

The announcement was made by Dr. Abiodun Adereni, the Founder and CEO of HelpMum, who expressed gratitude for the grant and emphasized HelpMum's privilege in being selected as part of the distinguished Africa Visionary Fund Cohort 4.

The Africa Visionary Fund is known for supporting impactful African social entrepreneurs through unrestricted grant funding, enabling them to expand their influence.

HelpMum, with its focus on utilizing cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence, to revolutionize healthcare for pregnant women and nursing mothers in Africa, sees this recognition as a tremendous honor.

Founded in 2017 by Abiodun Adereni, an alumnus of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, HelpMum operates from Ibadan and leverages mobile technology to address maternal and infant mortality rates throughout the stages of pregnancy and post-delivery.

The startup's commitment extends to offering an e-learning platform for training community birth attendants in local languages.

Additionally, HelpMum has implemented a vaccination tracking system to register expectant mothers in remote areas, encouraging timely immunizations for their infants.

The grant from the Africa Visionary Fund will further empower HelpMum in its mission to make a lasting impact on maternal and child healthcare in Africa.
