UAE-based technology company Yango Group has invested in Egyptian startup Fincart through its corporate venture arm, Yango Ventures, participating in the company's oversubscribed US$2.8 million seed funding round.

The investment will help Fincart accelerate AI product development, expand its workforce, strengthen commercial partnerships, and prepare for regional expansion across the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa beginning in 2027.

Beyond capital, Yango Ventures will contribute operational expertise, product development support, and scaling experience gained from building technology businesses across more than 35 international markets.

The deal aligns with Yango Group's broader strategy of investing in digital infrastructure startups solving operational challenges for SMEs in high-growth emerging markets—a segment attracting increasing investor interest across regional innovation ecosystems including ADGM, Hub71, and Saudi Arabia's expanding startup ecosystem.

What Problem Does Fincart Solve for E-Commerce Merchants?

Founded by Mostafa Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart began as a logistics aggregation platform connecting online merchants with last-mile delivery providers before evolving into an AI-powered commerce operating system.

Today, the platform centralizes multiple operational functions into a single interface, helping merchants reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.

Fincart's platform enables merchants to:

  • Manage shipments across 40+ logistics providers
  • Automate cash reconciliation
  • Track delivery performance in real time
  • Improve customer engagement and retention
  • Access working capital based on sales performance (for eligible businesses)
  • Consolidate logistics operations through one AI-powered dashboard

The company's locally developed technology addresses one of the biggest constraints facing SMEs in emerging markets: fragmented logistics, delayed cash settlements, and limited access to financing.

How Large Is Fincart's Business Today?

Although still an early-stage company, Fincart has already demonstrated meaningful commercial traction.

MetricCurrent Performance (2026)
Merchants & enterprise clients450+
Shipping integrations40+ providers
Shipment value facilitatedNearly EGP 1 billion (≈US$20 million)
New customers from referralsNearly 40%
Marketing spend over past three yearsUS$0
Planned regional expansion2027

The company says nearly 40% of new customers are acquired through referrals, despite making no marketing expenditure during the past three years—an indicator of strong product-market fit within Egypt's rapidly growing e-commerce sector.

How Will the New Funding Be Used?

The newly raised capital will support several strategic initiatives, including:

  • Expanding AI capabilities across the platform
  • Hiring engineering and commercial talent
  • Building new strategic partnerships
  • Preparing market entry into additional countries across MENA and Africa
  • Scaling infrastructure to support larger enterprise customers

According to Mostafa Masry, Co-founder and CEO of Fincart, the investment strengthens the company's ambition to become the operational backbone powering e-commerce merchants across Africa.

Why Does This Investment Matter for the Regional Startup Ecosystem?

The transaction highlights several broader trends shaping venture capital across the Middle East and Africa.

First, investors are increasingly backing AI infrastructure rather than purely consumer-facing AI applications. Operational software that improves logistics, payments, financing, and commerce workflows has become a major investment theme throughout 2025–2026.

Second, regional corporate venture funds are becoming more active participants in startup funding. Yango Ventures joins a growing ecosystem of strategic investors—including corporate funds, sovereign-backed initiatives, and accelerator programs operating through hubs such as Hub71, ADGM, and NEOM—that provide founders with both capital and operational expertise.

Third, Egypt continues strengthening its position as one of Africa's leading startup ecosystems, particularly across fintech, logistics technology, and commerce enablement.

What Is Yango Ventures?

Yango Ventures is Yango Group's US$20 million corporate venture fund, established to invest in early-stage technology companies across:

  • Middle East
  • North Africa
  • Pakistan
  • Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Latin America

The fund focuses on sectors including:

Fincart represents one of the fund's earliest regional investments following its backing of UAE embedded finance startup Comfi AI, reflecting Yango Ventures' strategy of supporting startups building foundational digital infrastructure for SMEs.

Leadership Commentary

"We have built technology businesses in more than 35 markets, and we know that small businesses grow faster when technology simplifies operations," said Daniil Shuleyko, Chief Executive Officer of Yango Group.

He added that Fincart is helping merchants streamline logistics, improve delivery performance, and access better operational and financial tools—capabilities expected to become increasingly important as e-commerce adoption accelerates across emerging markets.

Masry said the partnership with Yango Ventures will accelerate Fincart's regional expansion while strengthening its position as the technology backbone for digital commerce businesses throughout Africa.

Why This Matters

As e-commerce across the Middle East and Africa becomes increasingly competitive, merchants are demanding integrated software that combines logistics management, financial operations, and AI-driven automation. Fincart's funding reflects a broader shift in regional venture capital toward startups building the infrastructure that enables digital commerce rather than simply participating in it. With corporate investors such as Yango Ventures providing both funding and operational expertise, AI-powered commerce infrastructure is emerging as one of the region's fastest-growing investment categories.
