FedEx Express, a key subsidiary of FedEx Corp and the globe's premier express transportation enterprise, has poured $350 million into an advanced air and ground hub situated at Dubai World Central (DWC) Airport in Dubai South.

The inauguration of this hub signifies a substantial and enduring investment in the UAE's economy, focusing on infrastructural and technological advancements within the establishment.

This substantial financial commitment serves to reiterate the corporation's dedication to fostering the UAE's economic expansion, aligning seamlessly with the 'National Agenda for Non-oil Export Development', which strives to bolster the nation's foreign trade.

Spanning an impressive 57,000 square meters, the facility integrates cutting-edge technologies, including automated sorting systems designed to enhance the efficiency, precision, and rapidity of package handling and distribution processes.

Among its standout features are two automated high-speed x-ray machines outfitted with artificial intelligence, facilitating efficient goods scanning and heightening security measures.

Moreover, a 170-square-meter cold storage area is available to accommodate a diverse array of temperature-sensitive shipments.

The hub's official unveiling ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

Also in attendance were Raj Subramaniam, President and CEO of FedEx Corporation; Richard W Smith, President and CEO of FedEx Express for Airline and International; and Kami Viswanathan, President of FedEx Express MEISA.

Commenting on the occasion, Sheikh Ahmed expressed, "The inauguration of the FedEx MEISA hub in Dubai South is a strategic milestone for Dubai’s aviation and logistics sectors, consolidating the emirate’s robust infrastructure, strategic location, and our ongoing efforts to enhance global connectivity.
