Venture capital firm EchoVC, specializing in seed and early-stage technology investments with a focus on underrepresented founders and underserved markets, has unveiled its latest initiative—the EchoVC Eco Pilot Fund I.

This new pre-seed fund aims to make strategic investments in ventures within the realms of climate and energy.

EchoVC, aspiring to become the Sequoia Capital for underestimated founders and markets, operates from offices in Lagos, Nairobi, New York, and London, currently managing a diverse portfolio of almost seventy companies.

The firm's investment scope encompasses technology and technology-enabled startups across various sectors and themes, including smart planet, healthcare, human services, education, agriculture, climate, energy, AI, financial services, mobility, commerce, media, and connectivity.

The EchoVC Eco Pilot Fund I, with a capital of US$2.5 million, serves as a "pilot" fund strategically dedicated to identifying and supporting promising pre-seed startups that are shaping the future of climate, energy, agriculture, and mobility.

The primary objective of this fund is to stimulate early-stage enterprise development and innovation, fostering solutions that contribute to an uplift in income for all participants along the entrepreneurial journey.

Taiwo Kamson, Principal at EchoVC, emphasized the uniqueness of the Eco Pilot Fund I, describing it as a strategic initiative aimed at addressing funding gaps in specific impact-focused sectors and their respective value chains.

The firm believes that by concentrating on these areas, they can make a lasting impact on the growth and development of innovative solutions within agriculture, climate, and energy.
