Dubai's Technological Advancements Reshaping the Future of Transactions Through AI-Powered Chats

By Staff Writer, 17 October 2023

In the near future, residents of Dubai may find themselves streamlining their bill payments and transactions through convenient chat interfaces, thanks to the evolving technological landscape in the city.

Advancements in Dubai's technological sphere are poised to elevate the overall quality of life, simplifying financial engagements for its populace.

On Wednesday (11/10), Digital Dubai and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) jointly introduced Dubai AI, an innovative platform fueled by generative AI.

This platform is designed to empower residents by providing easy access to information and enabling various transactions and services, all facilitated through the power of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Moza Suwaidan, the CEO of the digital applications and platforms sector at Digital Dubai, envisages a transformation in government services within a few years.

Users will no longer need to navigate websites or mobile applications for their requirements; instead, they can interact seamlessly through a chat interface.

They might simply express their intent to pay bills and share their account details, receiving confirmations through the chat, as Dr. Suwaidan outlined during a panel discussion at the Dubai Assembly for Generative AI conference held at the Museum of the Future.

As technological progress marches forward, there's a growing desire for a human touch in digital interactions.

Individuals seek responsiveness akin to a human's ability to answer questions and address concerns.

For instance, many companies subject their customers to extended waiting times on phone calls.

Implementing chat services can drastically enhance customer experience by promptly addressing queries and clarifying doubts regarding services or payments.

In the midst of technological advancements, Dr. Suwaidan emphasizes the need for ethical controls to mitigate potential misuse of technology.

The challenges related to privacy and security in the realm of AI and technology have persisted for decades.

Dr. Suwaidan stresses the urgent need for concerted efforts to address these concerns and implement solutions, advocating for a cohesive approach to tackling risks and fostering responsible technology use among individuals.
