Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has partnered with Parkin, a leading provider of paid public parking facilities, to increase the number of EV 'Green Charger' stations at prime locations managed by Parkin.

This initiative aligns with Dewa's ongoing efforts to promote sustainability, encourage the use of environmentally friendly electric vehicles (EVs), and enhance customer experience by providing more convenient charging options.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at Dewa, and Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin.

The signing ceremony was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa, and Ahmed Bahrozyan, Chairman of Parkin.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized the UAE's dedication to sustainability and green mobility, highlighting the nation's pioneering role in fostering a sustainable economy.

He noted that Dewa's EV Green Charger initiative supports national policies aimed at promoting electric vehicles and reducing carbon emissions.

According to Al Tayer, Dubai has over 30,000 electric vehicles as of April, with more than 15,000 participants in the EV Green Charger programme by March 2024.

These figures demonstrate Dubai's success in promoting sustainable transport and its potential for further growth.

Ahmed Bahrozyan highlighted the significance of the collaboration between Dewa and Parkin, marking an important step in Dubai's journey toward widespread EV adoption.
