UAE-based SME lender CredibleX has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Mubadala Investment Company, with participation from existing investor Further Ventures.

How Does CredibleX’s Embedded Finance Model Work?

Founded in 2023, CredibleX provides digital working capital products through a network of more than 70 distribution partners across the UAE market.

Its financing products include:

  • Revenue-based financing
  • Receivables financing
  • Payables financing
  • Embedded lending solutions for platforms and distributors
  • SME-focused working capital products

The platform currently works with more than 70 distribution partners and offers a range of financing products, including revenue-based financing, receivables financing, and payable financing. The company’s founders — Anand Nagaraj, Ahmad Malik, and Hassan Reda — previously held leadership positions across banking, fintech, and digital commerce sectors, bringing operational expertise to the region’s evolving SME credit infrastructure market.

Embedded finance adoption has accelerated globally, with the market projected to surpass $7 trillion in transaction value by 2030 according to industry forecasts. In the GCC, fintech infrastructure players operating within ecosystems such as ADGM, Hub71, and Saudi Arabia’s NEOM innovation network continue attracting institutional capital as governments prioritize digital economic diversification.

The latest funding follows another major milestone for the company. In September 2025, CredibleX secured a $100 million senior secured credit facility, which helped expand its lending operations and support more SMEs across the country.

What Does the New Funding Mean for CredibleX’s Growth Strategy?

The Series A investment follows another major milestone for CredibleX. In September 2025, the company secured a $100 million senior secured credit facility to scale its lending operations and expand financing access for SMEs across the UAE.

The newly raised capital will support several strategic initiatives:

Growth AreaPlanned Focus
Lending ExpansionIncrease SME financing capacity across the UAE
Embedded Finance InfrastructureStrengthen API integrations and partner distribution
Technology & DataImprove underwriting models and risk analytics
Marketplace GrowthExpand lending marketplace participation
Partnership NetworkAdd new distribution and ecosystem partners

The company stated that the funding will help accelerate both lending and non-lending business verticals while enhancing operational scalability.

Commenting on the investment, CEO and co-founder Anand Nagaraj said the funding reflects confidence in the company’s efforts to modernize SME financing in the region. He added that the investment would help CredibleX scale its platform and deliver faster, more flexible financing solutions tailored to business needs.

Mubadala said the investment aligns with its broader strategy of supporting innovation and improving access to finance for SMEs in the UAE and wider region. The sovereign investor noted that expanding financial inclusion for smaller businesses plays an important role in strengthening the economy and supporting sustainable growth.

Further Ventures, which has backed CredibleX since its early stages, described the funding round as further validation of the growing opportunity in embedded finance and SME credit infrastructure across the region.

Why Is SME Lending Becoming a Major Fintech Opportunity in the GCC?

SME financing remains one of the largest underserved segments across the GCC and wider MENA region. According to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the SME financing gap in the Middle East exceeds $250 billion, creating strong demand for digital-first lenders and embedded finance platforms.

Several structural trends are driving sector growth:

  • Rising SME digitization across the GCC
  • Government-backed economic diversification programs
  • Increased adoption of embedded finance models
  • Expansion of regulated fintech ecosystems such as ADGM
  • Growing institutional investor interest in fintech infrastructure

As regulators and sovereign investors continue supporting fintech innovation, platforms focused on SME infrastructure and alternative credit models are expected to play a larger role in regional economic development.
