CatalyzU Introduces Experiential Fellowships to Empower African Startups—Applications Close 29 October

In a recent report by Disrupt Africa's Tech Startups Funding, it has been revealed that the first half of 2023 witnessed a significant drop of more than 50% in the total funding raised by African founders compared to the same period in 2022. While this paints a challenging picture for entrepreneurs seeking financial support, there's hope on the horizon.

To weather this funding storm, founders are encouraged to proactively cultivate connections within the venture capital (VC) ecosystem. Seeking guidance and insights from those overseeing investment funds and enhancing their own venture-related skills and team capabilities are vital strategies for successfully navigating the VC investment landscape.

In response to the changing funding landscape and to empower founders and aspiring venture capitalists, CatalyzU has launched three distinct experiential fellowships within the Venture Capital and Startup domain. These fellowships are tailored to cater to the needs of different individuals:

• Venture Capital Fundamentals – for aspiring VCs as well as pre-seed & seed-stage founders
• Venture Capital Advanced – for aspiring VCs, as well as founders looking for an in-depth venture understanding
• Business Development – for Startups for founders and aspiring startup operators

Upon graduation from the Fellowship, candidates will gain automatic access to Africa’s largest venture capital community – Young African Catalysts, which comprises Alumni from CatalyzU’s Fellowships, lecturers, and the leading venture leaders from over 1000 startups and VC funds across Africa. This includes venture capitalists from Associate through to Partner level.
