Kenyan Fintech Cashlet Eyes Regional Growth After Milestone Year

Fintech platform Cashlet is set to expand into Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, a year after securing regulatory approval from Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

Since its commercial launch in January 2024, Cashlet has attracted 13,000 active users, facilitated over $1.2 million in gross inflows, and accumulated more than $500,000 in assets under management. The platform has maintained a 50% monthly growth rate in gross inflows, establishing itself as a leader in financial inclusion in Kenya.

“This past year has been a turning point for financial empowerment in Kenya,” said Aggrey Obimbo, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Cashlet. He highlighted the platform’s success in reaching underserved communities and its plans to deepen its impact locally while preparing for regional expansion.
