Neelakantha Bhanu, Bhanzu Founder and CEO
Bhanzu, a pioneering math education platform, recently secured $16.5 million in a Series B funding round led by Epiq Capital, with support from Z3Partners and additional backing from Lightspeed Ventures and Eight Roads. The funding will help Bhanzu expand its mission to transform math education worldwide.
The platform’s curriculum is specifically designed to reduce math anxiety and build student confidence through small, interactive group sessions, equipping students for success in STEM. Since its U.S. launch in 2023, Bhanzu has rapidly expanded across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia, bringing its innovative approach to students globally.
“The US math education market has significant potential, but it is dominated by large, billion-dollar companies that have not innovated their curricula or effectively embraced technology. This gap creates a significant opportunity for Bhanzu to revolutionize math education in the US. Bhanzu’s first-principles approach, strengthened by a robust use case of GenAI in education, aims to make math more intuitive and engaging. We are building Bhanzu in India for the world, with aspirations to become a household name in math education globally,” said Neelakantha Bhanu, Founder and CEO of Bhanzu.
Epiq Capital Partner Chinmay Katdare praised Bhanzu's progress, noting, “From the time we met Neelakantha Bhanu 18 months ago, Bhanzu has evolved into a global math education platform using its unique pedagogical approach combined with the use of advanced AI to shape learning outcomes across geographies.”
Bhanu, renowned for his exceptional mental calculation skills, achieved fame after breaking multiple records and winning a gold medal at the 2020 Mental Calculation World Championship, earning him the nickname “Usain Bolt of Mathematics.”
