BAIBYS Attracts $4.5M Investment to Propel AI-Based Fertility Treatment Innovations

09 August 2024•

Israeli startup BAIBYS, known for its cutting-edge autonomous system designed to enhance fertility treatment outcomes by selecting the ideal sperm, has successfully completed a $4.5 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Firstime Ventures, with significant participation from Japanese pharmaceutical giant ROHTO. This brings BAIBYS' total funding to $6.5 million, following a previous $2 million Seed round supported mainly by fertility doctors who own clinics in Israel and abroad.

Founded in 2020 by Dr. Nino Guy Cassuto, a specialist in male fertility, and Gal Golov, an engineer with expertise in electro-optics and personal experience with the challenges of infertility, BAIBYS aims to improve treatment success rates and reduce birth defects. The company, headquartered in Ramat Hahayal, Tel Aviv, employs eight full-time staff and several part-time employees and expert consultants.

Co-CEO Dr. Yaron Silberman emphasized the strategic value of the new partnership with ROHTO, highlighting its potential to drive marketing, research and development, and other key areas. Silberman also noted that the company is on track to achieve significant milestones, including the launch of sales in Europe later this year. "We are proud to demonstrate how innovative Israeli technology can help couples worldwide have healthy babies," he said.

The global fertility treatment market, valued at $54.1 billion in 2023, is projected to grow to $101.8 billion by 2028, reflecting an annual growth rate of approximately 14%.
