Aya Data, a Ghana-based AI startup, has secured $900,000 in seed funding led by 54 Collective, alongside several angel investors. The funds will support the expansion of two key products, AyaGrow and AyaSpeech, while also being used to hire new talent to scale operations. This brings Aya Data's total funding to $1.15 million, following a previous $255,000 investment from Microtraction, Savannah Fund, and Scott Bell.

Founded in 2021 by Freddie Monk and Larbi-Siaw, Aya Data specializes in data collection and annotation for AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini. The startup aids global tech companies such as OpenAI and Meta by providing essential data labeling services, including images, videos, and text. AyaGrow, one of its flagship products, is an AI-powered agricultural tool that supports precision farming, while AyaSpeech offers speech-to-speech solutions in African languages, enhancing communication for businesses, consumers, and governments.
